Lumber treated before 2006 (CCA treated) contains trace amounts of arsenic. Treated lumber today (ACQ treated) is considered safe by the EPA. See this link for more information.

Are raised beds better than a flat garden for growing vegetables?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the soil in your yard. Raised beds are filled with good organic soil. Flat gardens with poor soil will need to be amended with organic material. Sometimes it can take a few years to get your soil healthy.

What materials are your beds built out of?

Accepted Answer

We typically use ACQ treated lumber, but we can use white oak, corrugated metal and landscape block. If you have something else in mind feel free to ask about it.
